Week of the academic exchange with the canadian universities
Students at the college of health sciences were excited to receive a delegation of students from various Canadian universities. Students from Canada and Morocco engaged together over one week in academic, cultural, artistic, sportive, and social activities.
The Canadian students had the chance to participate with their Moroccan colleagues in the learning activities at the college. Together they attended classes, prepared presentations, participated in clinical tutorials and embarked on solving clinical problems through critical appraisal of literature and group discussions. At the end of the week, they held a seminar to compare and appraise the learning approach at the college of health sciences with those of their Canadian institutions.
The students organized a traditional dress show that demonstrated the colorful folkloric regional outfits of women and men in Morocco. Likewise, a traditional food festival was organized in which traditional dishes from various regions of Morocco were prepared and served by the students. The festival aimed to connect students with their heritage and pay attribute to the diversity of the Moroccan culture.
The traditional Moroccan music had a special place in the party that involved all the students at the College of health sciences. Other activities included sport competitions, city tours, excursions, and hangouts.
More importantly, each Canadian student had the chance to spend two days with the family of his/her Moroccan colleagues, during which they had an insider experience of how family life in Morocco looks like.
This week of exchange cherished diversity within the College of Health Sciences and was a great opportunity to exchange ideas and experience about life, culture and study in Canada and Morocco.
