DESCRIPTION OF THE PROGRAM
The speech and language pathologist is a highly qualified health professional who works to assess and support children and adults suffering from speech, voice and language disorders. They also contribute to management of a range of dysfunctions related to eating, drinking and swallowing.
This program is tailored to equip you with the knowledge, skills and attitudes that will make you a competent speech and language pathologist.
In this program you will learn how to examine patients and make a correct diagnosis. You will master a practical process approach to the diagnosis and evaluation of speech and language disorders and develop a rationale for each type of assessment. In this regard our educational activities will provide you with the most updated knowledge and technological advances.
Based on the diagnosis, you will be capable to develop and implement individualized plans of care tailored to the case of each patient. The scope of therapy is wide and includes speech therapy, language therapy, augmentative and alternative communication, cognitive-communication therapy and other modalities. This program will also build your competencies in supporting and training family members of patients with speech, voice, language, communication, and swallowing disabilities.
The job outlook after graduation is very promising as demand for qualified speech therapists is growing very fast. The number of patients in need for speech and language therapy is rising due to increasing incidence of diseases leading to speech and communication disabilities as well as improvement in medical care of those patients. Medical advances are improving the survival rate of premature infants and trauma and stroke victims, who then need assessment and possible treatment. Further, educational establishments including nurseries, elementary schools and special education facilities are increasingly demanding for the services of physical and speech therapies. Contrary to this high demand, the number of practicing speech therapist is very low in Morocco.
We have designed the course in a way that offers you the most interactive, informal and encouraging environment conducive to learning. You will be encouraged to think critically, to seek knowledge yourself and to translate theory into practice.
Our curriculum is based on the art and science of helping you learn. The principles of our educational philosophy are that you are a self-directed learner, have rich experiences and knowledge on which to draw and desire to learn to better handle real-life situations. In this regard we see education as a process that builds up competences and leads to achievement of your full potential. Last but not least, every facility that makes you enjoy learning shall be at your disposal.

The majority of speech-language pathologists run their own private cabinets. They usually work as part of a multidisciplinary team, alongside other health professionals such as doctors, surgeons, psychologists, physiotherapists and occupational therapists. They may also liaise with professionals in education and social services.
They can provide services or work directly in medical facilities and schools. In medical facilities, speech-language pathologists work with physicians and surgeons, social workers, psychologists, and other healthcare workers. In schools, they work with teachers, other school personnel, and parents to develop and carry out individual or group programs, provide counseling, and support classroom activities.
